My Story in a nutshell

Well, okay it wasn’t quite as simple as this but you get the gist.

My story in a nutshell

They said I’d got two years to live,
I thought, ’I’ll show you lot,
I’ll go straight on the internet,
And swot and swot and swot’,

So this I did and came up with some interesting facts,
Like turmeric, soya, selenium could help me fight right back,
So I went off to the health food shop and bought up half their stock,
I took it home and spread it out and hubby stared in shock,

Where are you going to put it all? he said, you’ll never fit it in.
Well, eventually in me I said, answering with a grin.
Then having put the stuff away off to my study I went,
Picked up pen and paper and wrote ‘The Codger’s Lament’,

So three operations and nearly four years on I’m still here to tell the tale,
Well, I’d rather keep my pecker up than sit and weep and wail,
For that way only madness lies and you’ve got to think the best,
Think only of the positive and disregard the rest.
